Pretty Boy and Pretty Girl and Australian Love Story.

I can't believe what I did today.
No really now, this was so impetuous
of me. And yet somehow I think it
was so meant to be and I am so thrilled
and delighted. Did I mention tickled and
in love????
Introducing the new additions in my life.
Meet Pretty Boy, he has the orange head and a dark purple chest .
And Pretty Girl, she has a black head and lighter
lavendar chest with a turquoise ring around
her neck.
The chest color determines the sex.
I am blown away.
I was itching to get out of the house today
and thought I'll take a long drive up to The Festival Flea Market.
It would be a creative way for me to get in some much needed
walking and I could look at all the latest in discounted merchandise,
whatever...
I was being so good, not giving in to any impluses to buy when
low and behold I hear all this bird noise and following my ears
come upon a booth that has cages full of these incredibly beautiful
Australian Baby Finches.
I asked all kinds of questions. There were several people, coming
and going from the booth, all testifying, unsolicited, what a wonderful
business this women operator runs. How happy they are with their
purchases and such. How she hand feeds and raises all the birds.
Blah. Blah.
So what do you know? I went for it.
I zeroed in on the male Pretty Boy and then let her select a female
to go with him.
They will not mate unless I put a little bird house in their cage.
I still can't believe they are mine.
I can't stop looking at them and talking to them.
They even just gave me their first chirps here, just now.
They were silent all the way home in the car.
Too bad about being in a cage, for them and to photograph
them that way.
AH, nature, what an awsome, inspiring force that I now
get to witness daily in my own little space, right here.
Thank you to the powers that be.
I am so happy and grateful.

Thank you for visiting my blog, Myra. And thank you so much for going to my eBay, and helping to shake up some energy over there (it's been so quiet lately).

I love your sweet little birdies. They will give you hours of joy.
peck, peck, kiss kiss!
